How to Prepare Your Infant for the Move

Infants will always show some signs of stress in an unfamiliar environment. More often than not, you will see them cry as they are brought to a new place. You may have noticed that several times in your travels.   What more if you have to move to another place permanently? It is therefore important to prepare him for the new environment. Your task as a parent is to see to it that your infant enjoys the journey and accepts the changes without complaining.   What you should do to make an infant feel comfortable during the move   There are a few things to bear in mind when preparing your infants for the move. Most of these tasks deal with moving day.   1. Make sure that he hears familiar voices. If you have two or more kids with you, allow them to play with their baby brother or sister. It will also help if you sing him some of his favourite songs. If you have his baby CD with you, play it inside the car.   2. Change his position in the car. Your infant will be stressed if he does not change his position. If he needs to sleep, make sure that nobody disturbs him.   3. Make some pit stops as well.  A long ride can be very boring and taxing to adults. Well, your infant will also feel the same way. Give him time to breathe during the move.   As soon as you get to the new home, allow your child to familiarise himself with the place. You may set-up a room for him with all his toys around. That way, he will be able to accept the new surroundings with a smile.
