8 Things before Moving into a New Apartment

Moving into a new apartment can be an incredibly fun and exciting affair. It is a great opportunity to meet new friends and try new experiences. However, to make sure that the whole affair remains a pleasant one, you need to check on several things, both in and outside of the area you are moving into. Here is a basic checklist you can abide by:
1.
Doors - Check whether the doors are closing smoothly. Listen if there is an annoying screeching sound when the doors are opened. Don't forget to check whether the locks are working properly too.
2.
Faucets, showers and toilet flush - See to it that there is good water pressure in the apartment you are moving into. Aside from the faucets and showers, you might also want to check on the toilet flush. Nothing is more frustrating than having a toilet that doesn't flush correctly.
3.
Flooring - Whether it is carpeted or made out of timber, be sure to check for any signs of wear and tear. Look for water damages or insect influx to avoid costly flooring repairs and remodeling.
4.
Cell phone reception - Most people could not live without their cell phones. A poor cell phone reception can lead to inconvenience and annoyance later.
5.
Appliances - If your landlord has included a few appliances, be sure to check whether they are working properly.
6.
Landlord - The interiors is not all. Be sure to check out the reputation of your landlord and learn how he manages concerns.
7.
Safety - Search whether the crime rate in your location is low. The neighborhood should be gated and patrolled at night.
8.
Location and Transportation System - Knowing the transportation routes and the proximity of your area to major establishments enables you to determine how long it takes to reach the school, supermarket or office.
